The SS UNS S31603 Angles that we produce offer advanced creep, stress to rupture and tensile strength at elevated temperatures. Grade 316L( L = low carbon) is the same as the below except it has an extra-low-carbon analysis, the advantage of which is that it precludes any dangerous precipitation in the 800º F to 1500º F range that might affect from welding heavier sections. The maximum carbon content of 316L is only0.03 percent. thus 316L is considerably used in heavy gauge welded elements.
