Hardened 550 Wear Plate is a weldable and bendable abrasion-resistant steel, with a nominal hardness of 550 HBW. These Hardened 550 Steel Plates brinell hardness, HBW, according to EN ISO 6506-1, on a milled surface 0.5 – 3 mm below surface. The nominal material thickness of Hardened 550 Plate will not deviate more than ± 15 mm from that of the test specimen.
Hardened 550 Sheet is not intended for further heat treatment. Hardened 550 Wear Resistant Steel Plate has obtained its mechanical properties by quenching and when necessary by means of subsequent tempering. The properties of Hardened 550 Sheet delivery condition cannot be retained after exposure to temperatures in excess of 250ºC . The minimal Hardened 550 Plate Hardness is 550 HBW.
